My MIL has reached her limit with us?

I love my MIL as a person, but she is terrible with finances, and her kids find themselves picking up most of her bills because of her poor financial planning. Right now, her 4 other kids are really struggling, but my husband and I are doing ok (by ok, I mean we can afford to live comfortably with careful budgeting, but we only make under $40k a year combined, we cannot support his moms bad decisions). Anyways, last winter, the plastic sheet things (you know, those hard, corrugated green sheets) blew off her covered porch that her 4 dogs live under. Her dogs are 100% outside dogs, always have been, they are huge, dirty, smelly, and pretty much untrained. These are not small pampered lap pets, they are just fine out in the elements. Instead of saving up to pay a professional to fix it for years to come, she assumed I would pay for the materials to do a crappy patch job that will probably blow right off again because Im not a carpenter. The monsoons are coming, so she called me up the other day and told me she needed me to come fix it asap. She can't afford the $250 materials I'll need, so guess who gets to pay? I suggested building a small wood shelter for the dogs instead, which would be just as effective and cost only about $50. But no, they have to have a whole covered porch to stay out of the rain. These dogs will be perfectly fine out in the rain come on why should I have to help them out.. If she cant afford them then she should take them to the pound right?

An outside hitter should always start from the outside. From there, you should be able to see the block and hit either sharp angle, through the seam, or rip line :) From my personal experience, if you start inside, it's easier for you to get blocked, you can start your approach from the inside, but you always want to have those different hitting options to be a very efficient OH.

6 week old puppy in danger?

My drunken uncle who lives next door got hold of a 6 week old puppy. He is irresponsible and in no way fit to take care of a dog. I never sat down and thought about everything I normally eat contains some form of sugar or high fructose corn syrup. I eat strawberries & cream oatmeal every morning that's loaded with it! Hey I'm an 18 year old athlete. I have an arrhythmia and tachycardia. My heart rate is consistently above 100 and I find myself out of breath often. My cardiologist said that the p wave on my EKG is upside down. He said that Ablation looks like the best option at this point, as beta blockers were not tolerated. My home PC has a virus, what can I do to get rid of it?

I think it's a really bad virus. The other day I was on this site that I shouldn't have been and an ad passed through my pop-up blocker and popped-up. I closed the pop-up window and immediately my Webroot anti-virus had a message pop up at the bottom of the screen stating "a potential harmful threat has been quarantined" or something to that extent. I closed my Safari browser (I'm using Windows Vista, not a Mac) and opened Webroot. The risk level of the quarantined item was 5 and it's name began with "MAL". I didn't write down the last part of it. Anyways, I didn't think much of it at the time. I thought Webroot handled the threat. I walked away from my computer and when I returned, there were a bunch of weird error messages popping up. I got freaked out and closed iTunes, then restarted my PC. When it restarted, there was a red circle with and "x" in it on the task bar next to the time, volume, etc. Also my desktop background was gone and it was just all black. Then a fake scan popped up on the screen and said that I had a bunch of threats on my computer. That's when I knew for sure that my PC had been infected. I force-shut-down the computer by holding down the power button. Then I turned it back on and tried to boot it into safe mode, this failed miserably as I was faced with a "blue screen of death". I turned the PC off again and I turned it back on and pressed F8 at the start up screen to view the advanced options. I had no idea what option to choose so I just felt discouraged and turned the computer off and I haven't touched it since Saturday when all of this occurred. I really want to get my computer working again before my mom realizes there's something wrong with it. Please help, thanks in advance.

There was this movie and I remember watching it in the 90s (maybe mid 90s) anyway, there were these two girls and if I remember correctly, they break away from someplace, like maybe a shelter or insane asylum and it seems like they go to Mexico. Help?! Cats and Kittens?

I rescued a cat 2 years ago. He became my sister's cat but she's going to college so he's mine again. I rescued another male stray cat also about half a year ago. I rescued 2 more male kittens 2 weeks ago. Now my friend's outdoor cat had 4 babies and her dog ate one of them so she asked if I could "rescue" her cat and it's 3 remaining babies. Her parents won't let her bring the cat inside. It's also very rainy and we are afraid the babies and mom will get sick. I can't take them because we can hardly afford the cats and one dog I have now. None of my friends can take any more cats because most of them already have at least 2 or 3 because they adopt the cats I rescue. Nobody could take the 2 white ones so I kept them. After them my mom said if I sneak the pregnant cat into the house she'll get rid of the kittens and my precious rescue cat Shadow. I don't see why she loves my sister's overweight cat so much. Anyways, how am i going to help provide shelter for the cat and kittens? Maybe I could tell my mom I need them for further veterinary studies? I could pay for all of their expenses because I sell my artwork online and do multiple various tasks for neighbors and friends. I'm painting much more artwork now too because I have to pay for my 2 kittens to be neutered and etc because my mom said if she payed for them she would de-claw them like she de-clawed my sister's cat. I also promised my best friend that once she got a cat (one of the other cat's 3 babies) that I would help her pay for all expenses because she is poor and her mom wants it to not visit the vet or get fixed and she wants it to live off people food because she doesn't want to spend much money on it. I love cats too much to let that happen so I promised that I'd sell her artwork also and we'd use our artwork money to pay for it's food and vet expenses. Right now I just can't figure out how to shelter the cat with the babies, We do not want her dog to eat any more and we don't want them to die or anything. Why is my cat too scared to go outside unless im with her?

I adopted her when she was about 8 or 10 weeks old from an animal shelter and she is now a year old. I've been allowing her to go outside since I got her, however when she does go into the backyard its only about 10 feet from the door and no farther. Very rarely I see her sneak into the neighbors yard but she stays right by the gate and comes back when I call her. I leave my backdoor open in the mornings and she will just sit on the doorstep but won't go out unless I go with her, and even then she stays close to the door. if I close the door and she is outside she scratches the door and cries until I let her in (I never lock her out, it just happens by accident sometimes). Fast Heart Rate,High Blood Pressure And Fatigue...?

For the past few months I been really tired all day everyday no matter if I sleep 8 hrs.or 12 hrs.Throughout the day I get brain fog and find it hard to focus and feel kinda woozy especially when in a store with alot of people and bright lights.I also get out of breath and my heart beats really fast just from everyday stuff like getting up from the couch or walking up the stairs.Also when I check my bp at the store its always really high like 140/100 and my pulse is always 80-100 bpm.but as I sit there for a few minutes everything goes down to normal or sightly above.I am taking a beta blocker and it is not helping at all!!! I been to the ER and they dig a EKG,urine test,blood work and a chest x-ray which didnt show anything at all!! I went to my doctor and he just gave me a anxiety med which makes me more miserable and tired.I also got tested for everything under the sun like lupus,thyroid,diabetes,vitamin deficency ect. I also got a stress test and echocardiogram and halter monitor but that was over 2 years ago.I am only 22 Dont drink and Dont smoke!! If I were you, I'd confront the landlord and be honest. Mention that they have no place to go and your only option is for you to take them in. Most apartment complexes (actually I think all) charge you extra for having pets in the house. But to be honest I had a cat in my apartment and my landlord or manager of the complex never knew nor found out. I find it the right way to be honest because if the landlord were to find the cat and you never told him/her then that's twice the penalty. Just be honest! :) Good luck!

Okay so I help out at this shelter and I was walking dogs . One look tired he was this really cute chewawa and I picked him up and walked a little bit with him lying on his back in my arm. He moved his head and feel on the ground. I am not that tall so it wasn't a long fall or anything but I can't get his face out of my head. How can I teach my cat to cover her scat?

My cat uses a litter box and she has never urinated or defecated outside of it. However, she doesn't cover her scat. Instead, she'll just scratch the walls of the litter box (for at least five minutes), or paw at the litter and move it around a little. I adopted her from a shelter where she was brought in at a month old, without a mother, and from what I've read, kittens learn from their mothers how to cover their scat. My conclusion at this point is that she never got a chance to learn how to do that, so I would like to teach her. I know, it sounds weird, but sometimes she can really stink up the house after a really big poop, and it would just make life a little easier (and less smelly) if she could learn that. It's really awkward when I have friends over or I'm having a party, and the cat goes and takes a dump without properly covering it.

it is so hard when they are older and have bad habits. I am a beagle lover and one thing i have learned is they tend to act out when they don't have a buddy. i suggest getting a cat or another dog either will be fine for the little guy. You can try some sprays that deter him. but sometimes the only way is the meaned the nose to poo/pee method we had problems with our dog when we first got her nothing we did seemed to work positive reinforcement, etc... finally i snapped and held her nose close enough to get a good unpleasant whif(don't rub it in that is mean) and she learned after about doing that 5 times it was liek a light went on that said "hey this stinks maybe me masters don't like it if i don't..." Also try obedience training as well it establishes a good bond between you and your pet and teaches him that you are in charge so when you do say "NO" that is all it takes to get the point across.

What can I do about this?

There is a dog at the shelter I work at that I would like to adopt. The only problem is that (a) my dad says no, (b) we don't know how our two dogs would react and (c) the dog I want to adopt might be dog aggressive. He seems to get most aggressive whenever we bring another dog out and I'm around. Or if we're in the room where he almost always is. You can't feed a horse whole soybeans as it is toxic to them. Soybean oil is what most vegetable oils are, so it is fine to feed it, and is pure fat and safer than feeding soluble starches which are associated with multiple metabolic conditions and degenerative joint disease. A cup of oil will provide 2000 calories. An average 1000 lb horse can be fed up to two cups of oil daily which will add 4000 safe calories. If your horse develops diarrhea, cut back on the amount. This will fatten a horse up relatively rapidly, so take it slow. You can also cut back on cereal grains which are high in soluble starch and not as healthy as an energy source for your horse as the fats. Be sure your horse is getting plenty of long stem fiber from hay (mixed grass hay is lowest in soluble starches) as well.

WHY does the cat poop in it's kennel?

Story: Got this cat from the shelter September 2010 - she was 5 or 6 months old. The first month she was kept in her kennel every night and whenever I wasn't home (she had front claws and I had / have a nice couch). After that, she was only kept in the kennel 7-8 hours when I slept. Had no problems with her and the kennel the first 5 months. Then, had two incidents (one in February, one in March) where she pooped in her kennel. Thought it might be worms or an infection but no. I was out of town for some time this May, so the cat stayed with a friend. This friend let her roam all day, almost no time spent in the kennel. No problems there. When I got the cat back and put her in the kennel at nights again (I don't want her breaking nick-nacks I have OR climbing / biting things in the kitchen, as she has done), she pooped. So I let her stay out, and when she started to paw at my bedroom door, I'd put her in her kennel, usually for 2-4 hours. This seemed to work, until she did it again, last night. How to loose 10 pounds?

I eat fish and chicken, rarely red meat. I'm lactose intolerant, and have ezcema, so no dairy or acidic foods. I do 300 jumping jacks each night and every other night I do 25-35 sit ups. I drink tea or water, no sodas or milk. I do eat soybean icecream, sushi, vegetables, fruits, and pastas, lots of soups and salads. I currently weigh 128 pounds, I'm 4'11" and 17 years old. I used to count calories but stopped recently cuz' it was just too much thinking. I eat 3-4 meals a day (I consider soup as a whole meal and also salads too) and a light snack such as a special k bar or a cup of oolong tea or salada black tea with honey. I lost 22 pounds since the begining of this year but I want to loose another 10. Its becoming harder cuz' I'm leaner than before, what should I do and how long would it take to loose the 10 pounds? Trying to decide if I should get another Cocktiel?

We unexpectedly rescued a cockatiel from a tree outside my work almost 2 years ago. We put ads out but no one claimed him so instead of taking him to a shelter we decided to keep him & named him Harley. Did alot of research when we got him because I've never had one before and since then we have become to love him to death. His previous owner must have been kind to him because he is mostly hand tamed and loves to be out of his cage, however, he doesn't get out of his cage as much as he used to due to our schedules and us already having 4 dogs so we need to have Harley in a separate room when we do take him out. My husband is at home most of the day so Harley does get at least an hour out a day and on the weekends I spend at least an hour a day with him. We also put him in our living room during the day and in our bedroom at night so he is always in our sight and we also communicate with him throughout the day as much as we can. However, sometime I feel guilty that he is still not getting enough time out of his cage. When he is out, he doesn't really explore. He pretty much stays on our shoulders but lately he is not wanting to go back into his cage when its time. I do not know if he came from a home with another bird or not. Me and my husband have contemplated getting another one for about a year now but are torn. I have read that if you have 2 birds, then they will bond more with each other than with you. We certainly don't want that. However, if we did get another would it be acceptable to permanently keep them in separate cages. I really don't want to house them together. I don't mind the extra cleaning work, but what if we put their cages side by side and they seem to get along and then get frustrated because they can't have contact with each other. Would that stress them out. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I just noticed that my mother cooks my breakfast using Pure Wesson Vegetable Oil. It has Omega-3, no Trans Fat, & no Cholesterol, but the ingredient is Soybean Oil. I read an article about Soy saying that it has been tested on Rats. What basically happens is that down the line, they usually develop some kind of umm...I guess something that would make them "special", if you wanna be Politically Correct about it. It's like if you got it on with your sister, & had a kid. Is this true? I read this from Dr. Mercola. I'm pretty sure he knows what he's talking about, since he's a Doctor.

They have sued a few farmers who made a business copying their seed and selling it. They have always won their law suits because the farmers stole their seed. They only make seed and some herbicide. They make about 30% of corn seed and Dupont and 200 other seed companies sell the other 70%. So they don't control the food. They don't sell food or process food or animal feed. I have recently been diagnosed with high blood pressure and my doctor says I have Small Airway Disease.I'm on permanent calcium channel blockers and diuretics but I can't find any info on SAD except for horses(which I'm not) or references to COPD, which she says it is NOT. I assume this means it just logged me in. So I select to get a picture from my computer again and it says I'm not logged in. HOW FUNNY. Does your local shelter also have a low cost clinic? Ours does spay/neuters but also offers shots, and if you get them all there is normally a discount. It can get pretty expensive since they will need multiples of most of the shots as they grow up. We went to PetSmart and got on their Wellness plan (cost about $150 upfront) and we pay about $21 a month. It covers all their pup shots, rabies, wellness exams, free office visits unlimited, and the spay/neuter as well. It was way cheaper then the vets in our area and our dog LOVES this vet! They've healed him past a broken leg and dem. mange.

Should I help extremely shy cat--or not?

Some cats are just very timid. I rescued three that will stay around me although they don't like to be held. One is very timid but she was a feral. I just talk to them and try to get closer to them but it may never happen. They are only relaxed and will stay in the rooms when I am at home. Anyone comes in the house including family and they hide. The other is much older and she is not timid but will only come to me. They are loved and safe in my home.

Why is it, every time I turn around there are two stray cats fighting one another?

male cats are very territorial. If you put food out for them, they are going to fight for it, no matter if there is plenty for all. we get strays around our house alot, and we use a live animal trap to catch them. most of ours are female, so we take them and get them fixed then let them go. But for a male you can take him to a shelter or let him loose somewhere far from your house. I know alot of people say if you do that then it wont survive but cats are natural hunters and do not rely on humans to feed them. You may be able to find a live trap at walmart, not sure. good luck!

Awe she looks like a pit bull to me. And what you should do is keep the dog in a safe spot in your house. If you have a garage that should be okay because garages are usually a cool temperature when it's hot outside. Im not suicidal at all or anything. I just go from moments of thinking "my life is decent" I have a job a car that im trying to rebuild but still I hit lows of sadness and loneliness. I think my dog was stolen?

Our dog has never run away before and always sticks around our yard and house. She is very loyal and never leaves the front yard.
