How to get a male beagle to stop making its place when in the home.?

it is so hard when they are older and have bad habits. I am a beagle lover and one thing i have learned is they tend to act out when they don't have a buddy. i suggest getting a cat or another dog either will be fine for the little guy. You can try some sprays that deter him. but sometimes the only way is the meaned the nose to poo/pee method we had problems with our dog when we first got her nothing we did seemed to work positive reinforcement, etc... finally i snapped and held her nose close enough to get a good unpleasant whif(don't rub it in that is mean) and she learned after about doing that 5 times it was liek a light went on that said "hey this stinks maybe me masters don't like it if i don't..." Also try obedience training as well it establishes a good bond between you and your pet and teaches him that you are in charge so when you do say "NO" that is all it takes to get the point across.
