Beans, beans and beans?

A cold soak-overnight. You cannot harm them by soaking too long but they will not cook right if you don't soak them long enough. I have never marinated beans-I add whatever seasonings I want as they cook. I did see a recipe for a salad made with cooked edamame that were drizzled with olive oil and then roasted on here last night-it sounded good.
